Use Case

Some organizations designate Annual Leave as a primary entitlement.
Other leave types (e.g., Wellness Day, Rehabilitation Day, Extra Personal Day) are configured as dependent leave types, which may only be used when all applicable Annual Leave entitlements with overlapping validity have been fully consumed.

Business Purpose

  • Ensures that the primary leave entitlement is utilized before dependent entitlements
  • Prevents use of specialized leave types while Annual Leave remains available
  • Supports tiered leave policy structures

System Behavior

  • Dependent leave types define Annual Leave as a Prerequisite Entitlement
