Public Holidays provide a shared calendar classification used by multiple AristoTelos functions.
Each configured date is classified as a Working or Not-working Public Holiday. Dependent configurations can reference this classification and define their own behavior for these dates.
This allows holiday dates to be maintained centrally instead of being configured separately within individual scheduling and working-time rules.
DEPENDENCIES
Public Holiday classification is used across multiple AristoTelos configurations:
- Activity Types – recurrence can include or exclude Working and Not-working Holidays.
- Break Types – recurrence can take Working and Not-working Holidays into account.
- Employee Time Preferences – preferences can be configured according to Public Holiday classification.
- Operating Hours – recurrence can include or exclude Public Holidays.
- Request Limits – applicability can depend on Public Holiday classification.
- Requirements – recurrence can take Working and Not-working Holidays into account.
- Rostering Rules – rules can distinguish between Working and Not-working Holidays.
- Shift Popularity – evaluation can take Working and Not-working Holidays into account.
- Shift Systems – Public Holiday settings can affect which days are included in shift patterns.
- Shift Templates – shifts can be configured according to Working and Not-working Holidays.
- Time Off Types – recurrence can include or exclude Working and Not-working Holidays.
- Working Time – defines whether Working and Not-working Public Holidays are skipped when working time is evaluated.
- Working Time Models – reference the applicable Working Time configuration and define the Holiday Absence used for holiday-related absence handling.
Public Holidays therefore provide the calendar condition, while each dependent configuration determines what should happen when that condition occurs.
For example, the same Not-working Public Holiday can be excluded from one Time Off Type recurrence, included in another, skipped by a Working Time configuration, and handled by a specific Holiday Absence in the employee's Working Time Model.
This separation allows organizations to maintain one Public Holiday calendar while applying different business rules to the same holiday across planning and working-time processes.
