The Organizational Structure feature defines how an organization is represented within AristoTelos.
It organizes the company into Organizational Units and defines how these units are classified and arranged within the organizational hierarchy.
The Organizational Structure provides a common organizational framework that can be used across different areas of the WFM system, including employee and contract assignment, planning, locations, needs, teams, and other organizationally dependent configuration.
KEY COMPONENTS
Organizational Unit
Represents a specific part of the organization within AristoTelos. Organizational Units are connected to create the organizational structure.
Organizational Unit Type
Defines the role and level of an Organizational Unit in the structure and determines where it can be positioned within the hierarchy.
Organizational Unit Subtype
Provides a more detailed classification of an Organizational Unit within its Type and can associate it with relevant activities.
Organizational Hierarchy
Defines how Organizational Units are connected and organized under one another through parent-child relationships.
CONFIGURATION
The Organizational Structure is configured under the Administration module.
Configure Organizational Unit Types to define the organizational levels and classifications used within the structure.
Configure Organizational Unit Subtypes when additional classification of Organizational Units is required.
Configure Organizational Units to create the actual organizational structure, assign Types and optional Subtypes, and connect units through parent-child relationships.

Organizational Structure Implementation
The Organizational Structure provides the organizational context used by WFM functions in AristoTelos. Once the structure is established, employees, contracts, planning and other configuration can be associated with the relevant parts of the organization.
This allows the same WFM system to reflect differences between organizational units while keeping them within one company structure.
Applying WFM Functions to the Organization
Organizational Units can be used for different WFM purposes, including employee and contract assignment, planning periods, planning, locations and needs.
This determines which parts of the organization participate in the respective WFM processes. The organizational structure therefore provides the connection between the company hierarchy and functions such as workforce assignment and planning.
Configuration Across the Organization
Many configuration entities do not necessarily apply to the whole company.
Organizational Structure Availability allows their availability to be defined for the entire organization or for selected Organizational Units and their subtrees.
Configuration assigned to a selected part of the structure is therefore available within that organizational branch, including the units below it. This allows configuration to be maintained at the appropriate organizational scope instead of separately for every Organizational Unit.
Organizational Changes Over Time
The Organizational Structure can reflect changes in the company over time.
Both Organizational Units and the relationships between them have validity periods. When the structure changes, the system can therefore distinguish between the structure applicable before and after the change instead of treating the current hierarchy as the only structure.
This is important for WFM data and configuration that depend on the organizational structure applicable for a particular period.
Operational Classification
Organizational Unit Subtypes provide additional information about the operational purpose of Organizational Units without introducing another level into the company hierarchy.
Subtypes can be associated with a Primary Activity and additional Other Activities. This allows Organizational Units with the same organizational Type to be distinguished according to the activities associated with them.
Connection to Other Organizational Data
The Organizational Structure is also connected to other information used across AristoTelos.
Organizational Units can be associated with Cost Centers, connecting units in the organizational structure with the corresponding cost structure.
Locations, Agencies and Teams can be made available to selected Organizational Units through their respective configurations. Their use can therefore be aligned with the parts of the organization for which they are relevant.
